Happy New
Yeeeeeeeee-ah!
I don’t blog often,
but when I do..
I can’t stop.
So excuse my next few
overly excited version of me blog
posts.
Honestly, I’ve got at
least 10 posts in my drafts, mostly just unpublished thoughts that I feel I
might regret sharing the second I press “Publish”.
But one of my NY
resolutions of 2016 (and all the other years before) is to be a bit more active
in my blog, just ‘cause. I’ll leave talking about the rest of my resolutions in
another post.
As of today, it has
only been (an extremely quick) 22 days since 2016 came and slapped everyone in their faces.
Where did 2015 go?!
Was it not my 19th birthday yesterday..?
In this 22 days, more
things have happened to me in the whole of 2015.
Don’t know if I
should feel worried at how eventful (thus, tiring af) or how fun 2016 will be. Since I plan to be a little more
positive this year, I’ll go with the latter.
So, it’s no secret
I’m a little psycho when it comes to k-pop.
Like attend a k-pop concert overseas and paying a
little fortune for it and realizing it’s 3 days before my final exam but still
goes anyway psycho.
In my defense,
1.
It was only Singapore, so it’s basically not overseas.
2.
My paper 3 days after was a Korean paper, so I’m technically revising.
3.
They did not
announce their Malaysia stop when I got my ticket.
4.
A weekend in S’pore would just be my birthday
present from the ‘rents.
5.
It was EXO, ok.
It was the 8th
of January when Amina, Kamilia, Airis & Hilda flew to the lil red dot. We
flew together with Jetstar and took the morning flight out a day before the
concert to fit in a little fun vacation time before we turned into psychotic
fan girls. I’ve never actually flown anywhere with just friends so this trip
was so much fun! I’m also 100% sure I’ve never laughed so hard in my life in
the span of 3 days.
Even before stepping
in the plane, Kamilia lost her boarding pass (which she soon found on the floor
in front of a duty-free store) & gave all of us a good 20-minute non-stop
laugh fest. So you can just imagine the rest of the weekend..
It was only 4 minutes
away from MBS, by the way. We snatched a pretty good deal for this hotel
considering how snazzy its surrounding was.
We (the 5 of us)
stayed in one room, ‘cause it’s always more fun that way.
2 single beds, one
sofa & an extra roll-up bed did us good for a weekend.
Nights spent totally
uncool-y shrieking over every single photo of EXO and waiting patiently for
their airport previews, which only meant that they were that much closer to us.
Crazy fun!
Of course, as soon as
we touched down, we were all craving for Korean food.
Since none of us were
too familiar with Singapore except Airis, and she doesn’t know any Korean
restaurants around there, we went to Marina Bay.
Shmancy bunch we are. Budget travelling, what’s that?
But dang, that
Jjajangmyeon was the shiznitz! A very expensive RM35 shiznit.
After that, we walked
around Orchard Rd. as anyone would in Singapore.
Tried their famous
ice-cream roti, I’ve never been a huge fan of ice-cream, so I’m not the best
person to tell you this, but it’s nothing special..
I would tell you what
happened that night, but to respect the privacy of my other friends,
I won’t go into detail what we did that night.
I won’t go into detail what we did that night.
We didn’t do anything
stupid lah okay, don’t worry.
No clubbing,
drinking, drug consumption nonsense. Nothing illegal.
I think.
The next day was the day, you guuuuys!
The day I was going
to finally physical see the boys behind the voices of ¾ of the songs in my
iTunes playlist.
The boys. Someone.. hold me.
The boys. Someone.. hold me.
Was actually pretty disappointed with the turnout. It wasn't a sold out concert, maybe because it was a 2-day thing and the fact that the organizers announced the ticket details 2 days before they sold them pissed everyone the heck out.
Three stages of a fangirl when EXO first appeared:
1. OMG IT'S TIME IT'S TIME..wait where are they?
("Is that them? Where are they?!?")
2. W-w-wait.. Is that.. I see people.. IS IT..
(Losing my shit in three.. two..)
3. IT'S EEEEXXXXXOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!
(.....one)
Can you already tell who I like most in EXO? Hehe.
Yo I'm not kidding, Junmyeon freaking glows, man. Saranghaeyo..
Okay moving on.
My little squishy piece of cutie patootie, Kyungsoo-ah *shoots hearts*
I basically do not own a single still photo of Jongin during the entire concert because his looks was a whole other level of handsome, I couldn't stop screaming.
Sehun, too. Too handsome.
This was when Sehun was saying "If there was an angel in this World, it's me"
Kept my cool at the start, then lost my shit at the 3rd photo.
I don't even know if he said "it's me" or "it's you" because I screamed before he could finish.
Then, this happened.
And actually made me stop screaming (who knew I could do that during an EXO concert, hah!)
And well, not breathe at all.
Oh look, Kyungsoo! Aw cute!
Ahh, Junmyeon! Ahh..
Ahh-ck.. Is he.. No he's not.. is he.. is....... he...
Bye :-)
Rude. Rude. Rude. Rude. Rude.
Then Kai danced in the water.
Let's just say this concert made me a hot mess.
I will not be publishing my videos anywhere public ever.
My screams were borderline satanic.
It was also Kyungsoo & Jongin's birthday month, so all of us sang Happy Birthday to them.
Cries.
Duuuuude. Was so mentally & physically exhausted after the concert that I actually passed on the chance to see EXO's van leave the stadium.
When we exited the stadium, a whole group of people crowded near a bunch of tinted vans with their cameras and phones up in the air, hoping to catch a glimpse of the boys.
Yeah, screw that shait. Love you boys but my legs were already shaking at that point.
Despite our extreme exhaustion, dare I say, we still needed to have dinner.
Like the budget travelers we were (hah!), we made another stop at Marina Bay Sands.
Ok fine, we didn't really have much of a choice. It was late-ish, and we were way too tired to 'explore' Singapore at night and find food, and MBS was only a couple of MRT stops away.
Had a RM15 plain naan (insert flying money emoji here) without, let's shine some light at how ridiculous this is, curry. Curry was an addition $3 (RM10). Bapak kejam, bodo.
But actually padan muka us also lah, nak je makan kat Marina Bay. But stiiiiill..
Ok, concert review time!
First of all, best concert I've ever attended. Duh. What. How is that even questionable.
All 9 of them attended, which is a good thing, but Yixing was admitted to the hospital a day before due to exhaustion, and it was a little noticeable at the start. Then I saw him running backstage after one of their first few songs, and he was fine after that.
Junmyeon still had his hand cast, but he kept saying he was fine. Poor baby boo.
The concert was scarily on time. Started at exactly 6pm and ended at 9pm. Sharp.
The boys sang 27 songs in total, what the heck! Worth the RM1k ticket, if you ask me.
None of them spoke a whole full sentence of English except Junmyeon, who actually spoke English throughout his entire opening ment, with only a little tiny hiccup at the end. But I loved that he made the effort to do that for his international fans. Besides him, Kyungsoo did say the occasional "thank you"s and let's not forget Chanyeol's "Make! Some! NOISE!" hahaha
The only thing that disappointed me was that some songs were in the Chinese version.
This is apparently a sensitive topic amongst the Singaporeans, because some say most of the ones attending were Chinese and that they didn't mind, but some said they wanted a full blown Korean concert.
I obviously preferred it if they sang everything in Korean because the songs I listen to are their Korean version, so I was a little lost during the Chinese performances.
They. Sang. Growl. In. Mandarin.
Dooooooooown.
Another thing that was a downer was that they didn't translate Lay's ment!
Lay spoke in Mandarin throughout the concert, which I've no problem with. But they didn't translate what he was saying for us. So we were all (minus the Chinese) so confused.
And there was even this one part he said something funny and the crowd laughed, and when we turned to one of the girls who laughed, she ignored us and kept laughing.
Aku hempok dengan light stick kang.
Hopefully they sing everything in Korean during their concert in Malaysia.
And translate whatever the heck he says. I wanna laugh at Yixing, too :-(
Oh yeah, forgot to mention that they're coming to Malaysia!
Guess who's going..
Hehe.
